Using Acrobat 7.0's Tracker to read RSS feeds

The Tracker built into Acrobat 7.0 Standard & Professional allows you to connect to RSS feeds.

RSS feeds are basically web pages without any formatting can be read by anything that supports RSS. Instead of contantly revisiting your favourite web site (like www.markszulc.com) to see if anything is new, you can monitor an RSS feed and it will tell you if anything is new, similar to email.

First off, fire up Acrobat 7.0. Yes I know its obvious.. but lets not leave anything out.

The third menu across, View, has an option called "Tracker...". Select it!

The Tracker keeps all the information on any PDF reviews that you may have either initiated or participated in. Along with this, you also are able to subscribe to RSS feeds.

Select the "Services" menu, then select "Subscribe..."

Up pops a dialogue button asking for the URL for the RSS feed. My RSS feed URL is

http://www.markszulc.com/rss.php

Enter it in now then press OK.

The Tracker now shows my News Feed, expanded automatically. You now have an active connection to my news!

This list will automatically update whenever i post more news. Whats more, look for this icon in your toolbar...

It will show up and notify you whenever the news updates, and whenever you load Acrobat.

So by now you are thinking..

"gee now i can read all the latest stuff that Mark is getting up to, but i have to be on the internet all the time right?"

No! - The Tracker can convert the feed to PDF for you, so you can read it offline at your leisure, or even print it out!

Simply "Right click" on the "Mark Szulc News Feed" and the menu will show up as above. Simply select "Convert to PDF"

You will now be presented with a PDF of my news feed.
