Hobbiton - September 2004
Welcome to Hobbiton, Middle Earth, or for the non believers, Matamata, New Zealand. Now that the Lord of the Rings movies are well and truly complete, New Line Cinema as well as the owners of the property used for the film set have opened it up for viewing.
A 2 hour tour took us to the farm, showed us around Middle Earth and provided plenty of opportunity for photos.
At the top of the hill you can see Bag End, which is the most famous Hobit hole, as it belongs to Bilbo & Frodo Baggins.

This is me sitting in a Hobbit hole. No camera tricks here, the holes are Hobbit size!

Hobbit holes are spotted all over the hills

Ruth & I outside of Sam Gamgee's house.

The party tree with the lake behind it. I got to touch it!
