Hi everyone, sorry for the slow updates but it has been a busy end of year for all of us. First off, we have had the departure of Ric on drums who had to move to Canberra for work and around the same time Daniel left to join another band that suited his style more. We wish them all the best. Currently we are looking for a new Bass Player & Lead Guitarist to fill out our line up once again. The good news is that Dan & I have been busy writing and have about 5 new songs in the works that we are very proud of and will hopefully record and have on line soon. Stay tuned!

Hi, Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances our last gig had to be cancelled! The good news is that we have almost recorded our debut EP. Please watch out for us next year, although we may do the odd acoustic gig! There will be some exciting new changes for NoPoets! Dangirl

I have a fractured rib and would like to get as much sympathy as possible so I decided to add it to the news. Unfortunately I did not get a fractured rib by doing something adventurous such as rock climbing or hang gliding. No I walked into one of those ballet dancer poles that are attached to the wall. Excellent. Dangirl

Played the Forest Inn last night, one of our fav venues. As usual there was a relaxed and supportive atmosphere, and we had a great time! Thumbs up to Resonance who had their first gig ever last night! Well done boys. And Oxygen Mary sure rocked the place down, I thought we might be too quiet to follow them but Rob the sound guy proved otherwise. Thank you to all the people who came and cheered! Dangirl

We have just finished work to the second song for the EP only one track left to go. We have a show on this weekend, which chews into recording time, but it looks like we are still on track for a finished product by the end of September. VERY EXCITED.

We have 3 new songs in the pipeline that we are all excited about and will be performing at the next live gigs for your approval. While finishing the EP we are concentrating on rehearsal so that you will all be continually impressed when we perform live in August & September at a number of venues. If there is a venue near you that you would like to see us perform at, send us an email!

Gig review - thanx to Ron Baumann www.more-ronz.com - These guys are way too 'commercially oriented' for my liking however I have to give 'em a mention for some glimpses of musicianship. I think they have the formula right for mainstream and radio rock...the look, the material, the female vocalist up front. Probably need a touch more polishing. They get an extra point for the novel idea of handing out 'rate us' forms to the audience. Unusual for me, but i kinda liked 'em. This time around...3/5

Unfortunately we have had to cancel Monday nights gig at the Cat & Fiddle. They have a new policy which we disagree with forcing the drummer to use the house kit. Its like asking a guitarist to use a different guitar. We have no idea why the Cat & Fiddle believe this is a good idea so until they change there minds we will play at other venues.

The silly season is now far behind us and NoPoets have been busy. We played another gig at the Bat & Ball and have another booked for the Cat & Fiddle on Monday 17th Jan. Currently we are beginning work on our debut EP, which slowly we are starting to upload our demos. Check out the new 'Listen' pages complete with lyrics and a new song, Would you be there.

New guitarist Dan is now entrenched as a full time member. After many a night of rehearsal, we have a tight set list that we will be performing soon at a series of gigs over the next few months. Our next appearance is at the Cat & Fiddle in Balmain.

Hello to anyone who read our ad in Drum Media. Due to a mixup in email between our "real" ad, and the copy we sent between us full of crap, the wrong version went into the paper and reads "must be extremely good looking". What a joke :-) Judging by our photos you can tell hopefully that we weren't serious about that.

The recording sessions are complete. Ric brought around the final mix today. We are quite happy with the results, as the idea behind the recording was just to get the form of the song correct and not worry to much about the actual sound. We think it sounds good, have a listen on the "Listen" page. Tell us what you think!

Our quest to find a new guitarist continues, meanwhile the recording sessions are progressing. We have recorded 4 songs roughly and are now working out what is good and bad in each recording before trying again.

Last night Dan & Mark made their debut onstage as Mustard (Dans been onstage acting, and Mark's been in plenty of bands) playing an acousic set. Our initial idea was to appear under another name, just in case we sucked. The crowd loved us, it was a great gig. Thanx for Jonahs Park & Fell for Now for having us as support. The management at the Bat & Ball liked what we did and have invited us back for future gigs. Stay tuned!
