Finished watching Season One of Deadwood on DVD . This show is based in the historic town of Deadwood, in the Black Hills of South Dakota, USA. Ruth & I visited the town early last year, and bought the DVD series in the US in April (as well as a $60 DVD player that played Region 1 DVDs). The series, while fiction, is based on historic characters such as Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane. It was an awesome show and it’s easy to see why it had so many Emmy nominations (even with the colourful language, C word and all!). Good news is that another season is now showing and Season 3 has just been announced. Aussies can now purchase Deadwood in stores here, and Foxtel viewers can see it on Showtime.
